AboutThe yoga studio is an ambient space that was created by Seema Sondhi in 2001, where she could spread the light of yoga.  The thought is to help individuals on a healthier and more peaceful path by teaching them a system of exercise that fully integrates the body, mind and soul.

Seema’s foray into the world of yoga came at a time when her body suffered three lumbar slip discs and she was advised complete bed rest. The physical pain coupled with the agonizing mental battle lead her towards restorative yoga classes.  The practise of pranayama, chanting and mediation lead to her body building strength and stamina and her mind gaining clarity.

Within a year she managed to discontinue the use of the belt that supported her spine, her body was supple and she started to live with awareness and consciousness. After this experience Seema began her learning process as the inner realization of the therapeutic and healing benefits of yoga began to dawn upon her. She is now a reputed wellness expert and lifestyle guru who has been involved with the fitness world for 15 years and has gained in-depth knowledge in the field. She has been certified from the “International Sivananda Vedanta and Yoga Center” and studied under the tutelage of famous yoga gurus such as Sri. Pattabhi Jois in her quest for yogic knowledge. She has been featured in various TV shows, magazines, newspapers and has also authored 6 books on yoga.

Seema
AnushkaFavourite Quote: Yoga practice is not about learning and mastering more postures, but it is all about flowing and connecting with the breath in each movement and allowing the practice to open your heart and create love for yourself and others.

Style taught: Ashtanga form of yoga, where the asanas are linked through the vinyasas and proper breathing techniques. Her classes are dynamic and different every time and the focus is on correct alignment and techniques! They are challenging yet very rejuvenating, be wary folks she may just make you do several push-ups and planks if your knees not in line!!

Favourite Pose: Wide angle forward bend.

Bindiya
AnushkaExperience: Hailing from Hyderabad, Bindiya has extensive training in the field of Aerobics and fitness and has been certified with AFAA.  Her quest for knowledge about different exercise forms brought her to Delhi to learn more about yoga. In 2006 she completed the Yoga teachers training with Seema and is now a full time teacher at the studio.

Style Taught: Ashtanga form of yoga fused with an aerobic element to make it unique, classes work on building core and upper body strength.  Be prepared to have sore arms after this workout!

Favourite Pose: Half moon pose

Madhavi
AnushkaExperience: Having varied experience from different schools of yoga, her yogic journey took her to the US where she furthered her practise and knowledge. She has been trained with the “International Sivananda Vedanta and Yoga Center” and has travelled around India learning more about this ancient exercise form.

Style Taught: Traditional form of yoga with emphasis on breathing and meditation. The classes lean toward a more restorative approach to the practise. You will be sure to feel a difference in your body after a relaxing class!!

Favourite Pose: Downward dog

Anuska
AnushkaExperience: Originally from Bosnia, her travels and eventual destiny bought her to India. Anuska was not acquainted with the world of yoga when she was in India, but soon after starting her practise yoga changed her life completely. She attended the Teachers Training with Seema in late 2007. She now resides and works in India and takes regular classes at the studio.

Style Taught: Ashtanga form intertwined with traditional aspects of yoga makes the class very rejuvenating and focus on opening up the body. You will be sure to feel lighter and more relaxed after a class!

Sakshi
AnushkaExperience: Having tried all different forms of exercise, yoga proved to be the only system of exercise that brought physical and mental satisfaction. After coming back from Australia in 2010 she completed her teacher training with Seema and is now working as the marketing and administrative head at the studio.  She is not a full time teacher at the studio yet but assists in posture correction and alignment!
